10 Great Ways to enjoy Sengkang/Punggol

Away from the bustle and hustle of city life, we love living in Sengkang so much that we have never run out of things to do with our kids without stepping out of the vicinity.

1.  Fly a kite
Flying a kite or watching other kites soar can be really therapeutic. Try it at one of the many open fields in the estate. The breeze is great anywhere from Rivervale to Anchorvale.

2. Enjoy a picnic
Our kids love eating outdoors, so even if it is impromptu, we would just pack all our food into a big bag and head to a park nearby or even just the playground downstairs to have a picnic.

3. Visit Punggol beach
Recall memories of the voyage to enjoy Punggol seafood as you take the same long winding road to get to the little-known
Punggol Beach where the kids could play with sand while you unwind in the sea breeze, watching the ships and ferries pass by.

4. Wild wild wet at Sengkang Swimming Complex
Go wild with big splash-type of  water slides, kids-friendly water-play features, jacuzzi etc right at your doorstep for merely a fraction of you would have paid at Wild Wild Wet.

5. Have a BBQ
We were thrilled to discover some BBQ pits at
Rivervale Crescent and have since done a few rounds of BBQ gatherings with family and friends.

6. Playground-hopping
We take a walk to other playgrounds in the precincts nearby, whenever the kids feel bored with our playground downstairs,. The playground at
Sengkang Neighbourhood Park is one of our favourites with equipments that even adults would enjoy!

7. Watch remote-controlled planes
The area right below the Punggol Flyover (at Punggol’s end) has become a sort of unofficial gathering spot for enthusiasts of remote-controlled planes during weekend evenings. It is nice to sit close by and watch the planes flying around.

8. Cycle to
Punggol Park
As Sengkang is a relatively bicycle-friendly town, we try to run some errands on our wheels whenever we can but for the kids, nothing beats the pleasure of cycling all the way to
Punggol Park and then taking a break by the scenic and tranquil pond. On some evenings, the pond turns into a buzzing platform for remote-controlled boat hobbyists.

9. Stroll near powered pleasure crafts
The Marina Country Club offers country club facilities on a pay-per-use basis and there are a few restaurants and a pub. We are mostly there to take a stroll along the Marina Boardwalk and take a close-up view of the many nautical crafts berthed there.

10. Check out new amenities
As Sengkang and Punggol have been earmarked for many
new exciting developments, we are constantly on the lookout for any interesting facility that may have sprouted. Recently we found a new gem - Sengkang Fruit Park, which offers a vast space for the kids to cycle, roller-blade or just run around.

Hi thank you so much for the information. We live in Upper Changi and never realised we could do so much and so near us. We will check out the cycling tracks there.
